I noticed that playing explorer there is arcade physics and no option to switch to sim. I remember that back in a day there was sim physics in explorer (thats why i liked that mode so much), so my suggestion is to put option for physics selection in explorer mode.

It's a wild suggestion, but you could try launch with compatibility winXP or WinVista. Don't ask why i suggest it, but why not to try :) P.S. Did you installed everything that game offered to install? And are all your drivers up to date?

I played TA only with friends, I couldn't drive that long non-stop alone. When I played usual races or Explorer, music was always on even if i raced with friends, it's that TA takes lot of focus. (it's my case anyway, different people, different preferences)

When i played thunder alley with my friend back in a day, best way to stay focus was to race without music, we were talking through skype back then, so music often just make more bothering than help focusing on race. Tho its completely different story with other modes, but for TA best was to...
