Hello there,
Joining a room is easy: just pick the one you want to enter and click on the room bar.
To see who else is in the room before you join, right-click on the bar.
If you want to join as a spectator, tick the “Join as spectator” box at the bottom of the screen. If there is a buzzing sound coming back and nothing happens, you are not allowed to join for the following reasons:
  1. The race is in progress and the room does not have voting enabled.
  2. You do not know the password for the room.
  3. Your rating is too low or too high.
  4. You do not own the car required to join.
  5. You have been banned from the room by the room host.
You can join any room as a spectator, regardless of its status. As spectator you will not participate in the race, but watch it instead (“spectate” the race).
If you successfully join a room and you did not opt to be a spectator, it is important to check whether you really joined as a player or became a spectator while joining.
This can happen if you select a room with a map or track you have not unlocked yet! It can also happen if the host switched maps or tracks at the moment when you were joining.
If you became a spectator, you will enter the room with a transparent car and there will be a camera icon and red text in the top left corner of the screen, saying “you became a (drop-in) spectator” or telling you that you need more Experience Points (XP) to race on the current track.
