That's about when I noticed it as well. For reference those screenshots above are showing it stop in about 1/2 the distance it should be.

This bug was fixed a couple years ago but has returned. I think it everyone was calling it insta-stop brakes or something like that. problem: stopping distance mode: arcade maps: all maps cars: all cars controller: keyboard repeatable: 100% Keyboard vs wheel stopping distance blow.

For me the full screen resolutions: 1920x1080 will not pop the cork. 2560x1440 will pop the cork.
